about nor ala
Nor Ala Day Camp was founded in response to the closure of several local outdoor day camps, leaving the community in need of a place where children could experience the joys of the outdoors. Created to fill that gap, Nor Ala provides campers with opportunities to explore nature, build lasting friendships, and develop independence through outdoor experiences. The camp’s purpose is to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive while enjoying the beauty of the natural world.
The camp is led by Owner and Camp Director, Kelie Cook, who brings over a decade of experience in running summer camp programs both in day and overnight capacities. Most recently she was the Camp Director at Pine Ridge Day Camp, Kelie is passionate about providing meaningful camp experiences and loves watching campers grow both throughout the week and over the years. With a Master of Science in Camp Administration and Leadership from Touro University- Nevada, she also gives back to the camp community through her volunteer work with the American Camp Association and serves as a board member for Huntsville Young Professionals. Outside of camp, Kelie enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, two dogs, and two cats.
