Nor Ala Day Camp is open for all Summer Holidays.

Groups & Grade Levels
Red Hills Salamanders - Pre K (ages 4&5)
Named for the state amphibian of Alabama, the Salamanders are for our youngest campers. They will partake in activities such as swimming, hiking, kinder castle and more.

Red Bellied Turtles - Kindergarten - 1st Grade
Named for the state reptile of Alabama, the Turtles are for those who have completed Kindergarten & 1st grade. They will partake in activities such as swimming, hiking, and more.

Monarch Butterflies & Eastern Tiger Swallowtails - 2nd & 3rd Grade
Butterfly names as the Alabama state insect and state butterfly, the Monarchs & Swallowtails are for those campers who have completed 2nd & 3rd grade. They will partake in activities such as swimming, hiking, and more.

Wild Turkeys - 4th & 5th Grade
The Wild Turkeys named for the Alabama’s state Game Bird, are for campers who have completed the 4th & 5th grade. These campers will partake in activities such as swimming, hiking, and more.

Yellowhammers - 6th - 8th Grade.
Named for the state bird of Alabama, our oldest campers will have completed the 6th - 8th grade. These campers will get to partake in activities such as swimming, hiking, and more. Additionally, this group will get to go on an optional field trip each week.

Nor Ala Day Camp operates on the Challenge by Choice principals. All campers are encouraged to participate in all activities but never forced.
Leaders in Training
The Leaders in Training (LIT) program at Nor Ala Day Camp is designed for students who have completed 9th grade and are ready to take the next step in leadership. LITs develop teamwork and leadership skills through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and assisting with camp activities. This program prepares teens to grow as role models while still enjoying the fun of camp.
This is a 2-week Program.

Counselors in Training
The Counselors in Training (CIT) program at Nor Ala Day Camp is for students who have completed 10th grade and are eager to take on greater responsibility. CITs gain practical experience by working alongside staff, leading activities, and learning what it takes to be an effective counselor. This program helps teens strengthen leadership skills, build confidence, and prepare for future staff roles.
This is 4-week Volunteer Program.
